1. About Focura
Focura ("the App") is a free, distraction-free Pomodoro study timer built for exam-focused students. The app helps you track study sessions, manage subjects, chapters, and topics, maintain study streaks, and stay motivated with gamification features like XP and achievements.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Data Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)
All your study data is stored locally on your device using an SQLite database. This includes:
- Subjects, Chapters & Topics — The academic subjects and topics you create
- Study Sessions — Duration, type (Focus/Revision), and timestamps of your study sessions
- Break Records — Duration of breaks taken between sessions
- Streak Data — Your daily study streak count
- Exam Information — Exam names and dates you set for daily target calculation
- Gamification Data — XP points, levels, and achievement progress
- Daily Plan — Topics you plan to study each day
- App Preferences — Theme preference (dark/light mode) stored via SharedPreferences
2.2 Data Collected by Third-Party Services
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to send optional push notifications (study reminders, motivational messages). Firebase may collect:
- FCM Token — A unique device token used to deliver push notifications to your device
- Instance ID — An anonymous identifier for your app installation
- Basic device information — Device type, OS version (as part of Firebase's standard operation)

2.3 Data We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect:
- ❌ Personal identity (name, email, phone number)
- ❌ Location data
- ❌ Contacts or call logs
- ❌ Photos, videos, or files
- ❌ Browsing history
- ❌ Financial or payment information
- ❌ Microphone or camera access
- ❌ Advertising IDs or tracking identifiers
- ❌ Health or fitness data
3. Permissions Used
The app requests only the following Android permissions:

4. How We Use Your Information
The locally stored data is used solely to:
- Display your study statistics (daily, weekly, and all-time)
- Track study streaks and maintain gamification progress (XP, levels, achievements)
- Calculate smart daily study targets based on your exam dates
- Show study insights and top-studied topics
- Remember your app preferences (theme, daily plan)
5. Data Sharing
The only third-party service integrated is Firebase Cloud Messaging (by Google) for push notifications. No study data or personal information is shared with Firebase — only the technical tokens required for notification delivery.
6. Data Storage & Security
- All study data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device's internal storage
- The database is accessible only to the Focura app — no other apps can read it
- We do not maintain any external servers or cloud databases
- Data is protected by Android's built-in app sandboxing
7. Data Retention & Deletion
- Your data exists only on your device
- Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all data (study sessions, subjects, achievements, etc.)
- You can also clear app data from Android Settings → Apps → Focura → Clear Data
- There is no cloud backup — once deleted, data cannot be recovered
8. Children's Privacy
Focura is designed as an educational study tool suitable for students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally and we do not collect personal identifiers, the app is safe for use by minors under parental guidance.
9. No Account Required
Focura does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the app. You can start using the app immediately after installation.
10. No Advertisements
Focura is completely ad-free. We do not display any advertisements and do not use any advertising SDKs or tracking libraries.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times:
- Access: All your data is visible within the app (Stats, Subjects screens)
- Delete: You can delete individual subjects, chapters, topics, or clear all data by uninstalling the app
- Portability: Data is stored locally and is not transferable between devices
- Opt-out of notifications: You can deny the POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission or disable notifications from Android Settings at any time
